LOTTE Chemical Pakistan Restarts PTA Plant Operations

LOTTE Chemical Pakistan Ltd. has officially restarted production at its facility, bringing operations back online on September 1, 2025.

The company disclosed the development in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), following up on an earlier material information announcement dated August 8, 2025.

This marks a significant step for the chemical producer, which has been a key player in Pakistan’s industrial sector since its incorporation in May 1998 under the now-repealed Companies Ordinance of 1984.

LOTTE Chemical Pakistan specializes in producing and selling Pure Terephthalic Acid (PTA), a crucial raw material used in the manufacturing of polyester fiber, resin, and film. The plant’s resumption is likely to provide a boost to industries reliant on PTA, particularly textile and packaging manufacturers, which make up a major part of Pakistan’s exports.

By promptly updating the market, the company has signaled operational stability and a renewed focus on supply continuity—an important factor for stakeholders navigating an often volatile manufacturing landscape.
