19 School Principals Removed in KP After Poor Matric Results

The Workers Welfare Board in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has suspended 19 principals from its network of Working Folks Grammar Schools following disappointing matriculation exam outcomes. The move includes 15 male and 4 female principals, according to an official notification released this week.

Schools Across Several Districts Affected

The suspensions span multiple districts. Schools in Akora Khattak, Aman Garh, Ghoriwala, Haripur-II, Hattar, Karak, Kohat-I, Kohat-II, and Peshawar-II are among those affected. Principals from Samardan, Shahbaz Azmat Khel, Swabi, Swat, and Tath Bhai schools have also been relieved of their duties.

Temporary Leadership Put in Place

In the interim, vice principals and senior teachers have been assigned to run the suspended principals’ schools until permanent decisions are made.

A Signal of Accountability

This decision signals growing pressure on educational leaders to deliver results, as exam performance often directly influences both school reputation and student opportunities. By holding principals accountable, the Board is sending a message that leadership performance is tied closely to academic outcomes.
