Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has urged residents of flood-affected regions to leave vulnerable areas immediately and work closely with rescue teams to ensure their safety.
Speaking in a public statement, Maryam stressed that protecting lives is the government’s top priority. “Your safety and that of your children must come first. Please cooperate fully with the administration and emergency services,” she said.
The Chief Minister also assured citizens that the provincial government is carrying out a transparent damage assessment to compensate those who have lost homes, crops, and livestock. “No affected family will be left behind. We are committed to delivering everyone’s rightful support,” she pledged.
Authorities have been issuing warnings and carrying out evacuations as heavy monsoon rains continue to raise water levels across Punjab’s river systems, putting thousands at risk. Maryam’s appeal comes as rescue teams race against time to relocate families from low-lying areas to relief camps.
