FBR Hosts Tax Education Workshop for Islamabad Business Community

ISLAMABAD – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has stepped up efforts to promote tax awareness, holding a dedicated session with members of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) on Wednesday.

Organized under the direction of FBR Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial and Member Taxpayers’ Services (TPS) Tahmina Aamer, the workshop aimed to help businesses better understand Pakistan’s tax system and encourage compliance.

Breaking Down the Tax Process

The session opened with remarks from TPS Wing Secretary Compliance Kiran Zahra, setting the stage for a detailed briefing by Zafar Iqbal, Second Secretary for Tax Education. Iqbal outlined key aspects of FBR’s structure and ongoing reforms, emphasizing steps taken to improve efficiency and streamline tax collection.

A highlight of the event was a virtual demonstration of the recently introduced simplified income tax return form, designed to make filing easier for taxpayers.

Engaging with Business Leaders

ICCI President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi and other chamber leaders attended the session, which concluded with a Q&A segment where participants raised concerns and sought clarification on tax-related issues. The event wrapped up with the distribution of souvenirs to attendees.

This initiative is part of FBR’s broader push to build trust with the business community and expand the country’s tax base by making the filing process more accessible.
